Celebrate the 4th of July with a Flag on a Shirt!

Tomorrow is the 4th of July, so it’s time to get ready with the fireworks, the food and the festivities. It’s also the time to engage in friendly competitions and what better way to show your love for America than to wear your very own custom tshirt depicting the American flag?

Well, it’s not just the American flag; there are various designs that you can choose for your shirt. If you feel really patriotic, then you can choose the old flags of the American Revolution. There’s the Gadsden Flag, the Betsy Ross Flag, the Moultrie Flag and the Cowpens Flag. All four flags look really great when printed on a shirt and these flags symbolize how the United States stood up to obtain her freedom.

I have to admit that I find the Gadsden flag really cool. The coiled snake and the words “Don’t Tread on Me” just goes to show that our great grandfathers won’t hesitate to fight against tyranny and oppression. The Gadsden Flag was designed by Christopher Gadsden and was used by the Continental Army Marines along with the Moultrie Flag. Regarded as one of the earlies flags of the United States, the snake in the middle is actually a rattlesnake. It’s said that symbol was made popular by Benjamin Franklin thru his publications. When the United States was still called by the British as the Thirteen Colonies, the British sent the convicted criminals to America. Thus, Benjamin Franklin suggested that they should send back rattlesnakes to Britain as a sign of their thanks.

I wonder if wearing this particular shirt would make me bad-ass…

The Moultrie Flag is also known as the Liberty Flag. Designed by commission, the Liberty Flag was flown by the Continental Army in June 1776. The British fleet had tried to invade Sullivan’s Island, but the Continental Army pressed on with the defense. After ten hours of heavy bombardment and siege from the British Redcoats, Colonel William Moultrie won the defensive battle and saved Charleston from invasion until four years later.

I’m thinking of a blue t-shirt with the white crescent and the word “Liberty” on the upper right-hand corner of the t-shirt. It’s simple but patriotic, just like the Gadsden flag.

Lastly, we have the Betsy Ross and the Cowpens Flag. These two are, so far, the nearest to the present US flag when it comes to the design. The only difference with the design is that the Betsy Ross has the thirteen stars shaped like a circle in the blue square portion of the flag while Cowpens Flag has added one extra star in the middle.

If you’ve already picked the flag design of your choice, all you need to do is find a store that sells the cheapest t-shirts that you can afford. While quality is an important part when choosing the kind of shirts that you want for printing, you can always find quality t-shirts that are not too expensive. But if you don’t have the time to order custom-made shirts, then you can always buy t-shirts that are already printed.

Have a happy 4th of July everyone!
